| I decided to start this site because I am disgusted with the way animals are treated. I hope to inform people of the horrors of the eat industry and convince people to turn to veganism.
I recently requested a KFC protesing pamplet kit from Peta2.com. I am going to go to KFC and hand out information about these people to the customers because I'm sure a lot of people don't know how horrible these people are. Read on...
(I got this from Peta2.com:)
In 2005, retailers Wet Seal and J.Crew agreed to stop selling fur thanks to pressure from activists. For both of these companies, the final blow came when their respective CEOs were flooded with phone calls from the peta2 Street Team at their homes. Now that 2006 is upon us, it's time to turn up the heat on the top decision makers at one company that continues to torture millions of animals every year: KFC.
More than 850 million chickens are tortured and killed each year for KFC restaurants. Undercover investigations have revealed shocking cruelty to animals in the factory farms and slaughterhouses of KFC's suppliers. The people who are responsible for the cruelty—including cutting off baby chicks' beaks and scalding conscious birds to death—do not work in these farms or slaughterhouses; no, the true villains are the KFC executives who are pulling the strings from the comfort of their offices.
KFC's head honchos have refused to adopt even minimal animal welfare guidelines to prevent the worst abuses chickens face. While millions of birds suffer in filthy sheds, these people lounge around quite comfortably in their upscale mansions. Doesn't seem right, does it? We want each and every one of you to give these selfish jerks a piece of your mind today. Call or write to let them know exactly what you think about the fact that KFC tortures animals:
David Novak, CEO, Yum! Brands (KFC's U.S. parent company) 13006 N. Osage Rd. Anchorage, KY 40223 502-245-4014 (home phone)
John Bitove, CEO, Priszm (KFC's Canadian parent company) 177 Foresthill Ave. Toronto, ON M3H 6A7 416-322-6699 (home phone)
David Fitzjohn, Managing Director, Yum! Restaurants International 32 Goldsworth Rd. Woking, UK GU21 1JT 01483 717000 01483 717018 (fax)
After you've called and written to one or all of these folks, submit a Street Team report telling us what you said, and we'll give you 1,000 points. To claim those points, you of course will need to sign up for the Street Team first.
I'll post more when i get a chance. In the meantime check out http://www.peta2.com !
